After spotting this photo of Moraine Lake on the Instagram feed of @nateinthewild Banff National Park has been on my must visit list ever since. Crystal clear glacial waters, surrounded by dense forests and snowy mountain peaks, I could not dream of a more ideal place. Nestled in the Canadian Rockies, Banff is place you can visit year round for outdoor activities like skiing, camping, climbing, hiking, and fishing. The small mountain town is also host to the Banff Mountain Film Festival every fall which features epic stories centered around adventure and nature from around the globe. Cool Stuff // Chia Seeds

Superfoods are having a moment right now and I’m drinking the cool-aid. Who wouldn’t get on board with something that claims to be packed full of nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that can boost your energy, fight disease and make your skin glow?

My current go-to superfood is Chia, as in the Chia seeds you might have used to grow your Chia Pet back in the day. Not kidding! Great for heart health, weight loss and energy, read up on some of the insane benefits here.

Easy to add to smoothies and oatmeal in the morning, I’ve started keeping a mason jar with soaked seeds ready to go. Below is the breakfast I’ve had everyday for the last month, because it’s just that good!

Chia Pudding

Soak ¾ tbsp. Chia Seeds in 1/2 cup of water (minimum soak time: 30 minutes)

Blend the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Coconut Milk (or nut milk of your choice)
  • 1 banana
  • ½ tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. Cacao
  • 2 tbsp. Almond Butter
  • After blending, stir in soaked Chia Seeds

Feel free to swap out bananas for another fruit or add toppings like coconut flakes or fresh berries
