New Place // Zim Zim Falls

Living in Napa Valley for the last two years has definitely been one of the best experiences of my life. There are so many places right in my backyard that leave me with a feeling of being blessed to have moved out here. One of those special places is Zim Zim Falls! The hike to Zim Zim Falls leads to the highest waterfall in Napa County, which is located in the Knoxville Wildlife Area just north of Lake Berryessa. This 8 mile (out and back) hike is an easy cruise along old ranch roads which concludes with a moderate climb to the viewpoint. If you are feeling adventurous you can get right up next to the waterfall with some creative trekking or just enjoy from the mountain side. There are a number of creek crossings so water boots are highly recommended and obviously your camera for some epic pics. Best time to go is during the spring-summer months, and catching the falls as the sun is coming down really makes for a magical experience.
