I am writing this post as I want all of our fans and customers to be aware of a situation effecting Waves and our ability keep up with customer orders.
At Waves, we manufacture the majority of our products overseas and import them on container ships. The typical delivery time, when things are running smoothly, is about 30 days. However, drawn out negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association has caused major delays in ports along the West Coast. This slowdown has caused importing times to be unpredictable and in some cases take over 90 days.
Needless to say, our goal is to always have all our products in stock. Unfortunately, the West Coast Port work slowdown has made this not the case. As of right now, we are waiting on inventory currently sitting on a ship just off the coast. Our hope is that these ships will be called to shore and processed soon, though we cannot be certain when that will be. Our expected landing dates continue to get pushed back and we can no longer accurately predict when our inventory will be in stock.
I want to personally apologize to all of our customers who are patiently waiting for their orders to be shipped. We are hopeful that this mess will be fixed soon. If you have any questions about this matter please email email@example.com and we will provide you with as much information as we can.
As of Friday Night (02/20/2015) a tentative deal has been stuck. Ports are now working at full capacity, however, it is estimated that it will take at least 8 weeks to clear the backlog.
